Public Safety and Protective Services - Police Protection Personnel and Facilities

The maintenance of peace and order is critical to an enhanced community life and business atmosphere. With secured constituents comes confidence and progress. The police force of San Jose del Monte is reinforced by institutional control provided by Police Officers, and other law enforcement groups such as Bantay Bayan, private security guards and other vigilant residents who want to pursue peace and order in their respective places.

The total number of police personnel is 51. Most of them have the rank of Senior Police Officer 1 to 4. Only four or about eight percent of the police force are women Table 6.32 refers). The list of the different sections within the station and their corresponding number of staff are shown in the following Table 6.33a.

Logistics


At present, the station has 72 assorted firearms which include: 21 Caliber 38 Revolver, 189 mm Pistol, 29 Caliber 5.56 M16, 37.62 M14 Rifle and oneM1 Carbine. For communication, the station utilises two Handheld Motorolas which are both serviceable. The station utilises one Isuzu Multi-Cab as service vehicle. The station has no equipment for search and rescue operations.

COPS

At present, the station maintains eight Kababayan Action Centres. These are manned by PNCOs acting as overseers in providing bond between police and community through the concept of regular barangay visitation and counselling. A total of 1,500 Bantay Bayan members and civic-minded citizens likewise share joint responsibilities in combating crimes in the neighbourhood.
